Ruth served as President of Riley Cheer Guild from 2001 – 2003. She became involved with the Guild through being a member of St. Paul’s Church, Grandmother’s Group, a Guild Chapter. She has served for many years as Hospitality Committee Chair and is pleased to be serving another term as President of the Guild. Ruth is a retired Program Director for a State Association. Ruth and her husband, Steve, have three children and ten grandchildren who keep them busy following their adventures.
Dean is an Indianapolis native and is the Director of Wealth Management for the Windsor Group, an independent registered investment advisor. He has spent nearly his entire career in the financial services industry. Dean did his undergraduate studies at the University of Dayton and has an MBA from the University of Cincinnati. In addition to the Riley Cheer Guild, he is on the board of directors of Easter Seals Crossroads, the finance council of Saint Luke Parish, and on the steering committee for the Nora Alliance. Dean lives in Indianapolis with his wife Melissa. Outside of work, Dean and his wife love to travel. He also is avid sports fan, focusing mostly on the Colts, Pacers, and University of Dayton Flyers.
Peter was born and raised in Indianapolis, where he works as an estate, trust, and real property attorney. He is a graduate of Park Tudor School, DePauw University, and the Indiana University Maurer School of Law. He believes strongly in giving back to the community and regularly volunteers his time to local charities. He has also provided pro bono legal services to the Indianapolis Bar Association’s Low Asset Will Program and Ask a Lawyer Program, the Protective Order Pro Bono Project, the Community Development Law Center, and the Heartland Pro Bono Council. Peter lives in Carmel with his wife, two children, and two dogs. He enjoys record collecting, traveling, reading, and watching Colts football and Indiana basketball games.
Stephen joined the Riley Cheer Guild Board of Directors in 2014. In addition to being Riley Cheer Guild’s Treasurer, he is active in the Notre Dame Club of Indianapolis, serving on the advisory board for the Lawyer Committee. Stephen graduated from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University-Bloomington with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance-real estate. He received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Notre Dame Law School. Stephen is a member of the Tax Department at Katz, Sapper & Miller where he provides consulting services to a diverse clientele on technical tax matters. Stephen enjoys spending time with his wife, Jessica, and two dogs, Coco and Gort. In his spare time, he can be found golfing, playing softball, and traveling.
Teresa’s plans to work as a Special Education teacher changed with a family business opportunity. Twenty years later, retirement afforded availability to commit two days a week to the Riley Cheer Guild’s Toy Room. Following a long-time wish, she began volunteering with the Riley Cheer Guild in 1998. She has served as Hospitality Chair, IU Liaison, Vice-President, President, and current Toy Room Co-Chair. Teresa was Area Chair and current Secretary for the Indiana Hospital Auxiliary Association State Board. Teresa enjoys church, bible studies, and vacations with her husband, two daughters, sons-in-law, and five grandchildren.
Joanna has served as President of the Indiana Extension Homemakers Association and is glad to be able to continue her service to the association by serving as their representative on the Riley Cheer Guild Board of Directors. Joanna has a BS from Purdue University. She is now a retired Preschool Director and has time to devote to more volunteer opportunities. She has a love of children and hopes to be able to serve in a capacity that will improve children’s lives. Besides volunteering, Joanna enjoys traveling, walking, and reading.
Kathy ‘races’ around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as an Administrative Assistant in the Corporate Contract Department. She is also a member of Tri Kappa, an Indiana only philanthropic sorority. Kathy served as Tri Kappa’s State President from 2007 – 2009. Known to her sisters as ‘Kat’, she became a member of the Riley Cheer Guild Board of Directors in 2010 with the goal to increase communication and strengthen the relationship between Tri Kappa and the Cheer Guild. Much has been accomplished in terms of memberships, donations, and service! As a mother of four, a grandmother of eight, and a retired kindergarten teacher, children play a huge role in Kathy’s life, and the patients at Riley are certainly no exception.
