Brody
Brody is a 9 year old boy with ALL which was diagnosed on December of 2005. Since that time, he has been inpatient six times, with the longest stay of 10 days. In November of 2006, he was admitted for shingles and was having a really bad day when he received his quilt from the Cheer Guild. It made him stop crying and brightened his day, as well as the day of his mother. For the past year, Brody has been coming once a week for outpatient treatment. In late 2006/early 2007, Brody was finally able to start maintenance treatment on his cancer, which means he only comes to the Riley Outpatient Center once a month! In January, Brody was able to return to school full time, which was a major goal for him and his family. Congratulations, Brody! As you can see from the picture, Brody loves the quilt that he received. He even thinks that the yellow stripe down the center of the quilt is a #1 for him! The Cheer Guild would like to thank Brody and his family for sharing his story with us. We love to pass along stories of how the Cheer Guild has brought some CHEER to patients and families, so if you know of a story, please contact our office at 944-8705.
