Happy Holidays from the Riley Cheer Guild! We appreciate each and every one of you as you continue to support our patients and families with your generous donations. Here is some general information you might need! Thanks from all of us at the Riley Cheer Guild, and happy holidays!
Thank you so much for offering to donate items to the patients at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health. The Riley Cheer Guild processes all in kind donations to the hospital, and staff members deliver these items to the patients as they are needed for holidays, birthdays, and to support them in any way during a hospital stay or clinic visit.
Our current wish list and drop off instructions are located here: http://www.cheerguild.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/2017-Riley-In-Kind-Donation-Information.pdf
Our top needed items are updated regularly on our front page here: http://www.cheerguild.org/
Due to infection prevention and safety guidelines, all donated gifts must be safety processed prior to being handed out to patients. Items are processed every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday by the donation processing team. Items donated during the month of December are sorted as quickly as possible, and these items are utilized not only at the holidays but also throughout the year to brighten the spirits of children served at our hospitals.
Due to this process and privacy guidelines, donors are not able to hand out items directly to patients. If you are interested in long term volunteering, please visit https://www.rileychildrens.org/about/volunteer to apply for one of many opportunities to serve patients and families. If you are interested in participating in a special event, please contact the special events coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org. These opportunities fill up quickly, so please plan ahead. All holiday events are filled for 2017.
Staff members collect items for each child to receive on actual holidays to make sure that every child receives a gift that matches his or her age, developmental needs, desires, and cultural/family needs.
We are no longer able to hand out handmade items to patients while they are in the hospital. We encourage new donors to give their handmade items to other local organizations such as daycares, churches, and shelters. For more information about this new policy, please visit http://www.cheerguild.org/give/in-kind/.
If you have any questions about donating items this holiday season, please contact Ann Hannan at (317) 948-3584 or email@example.com.
Thanks, and have a happy and safe holiday season!
Ann Hannan, MT-BC
